Frequently Asked Questions

Is football right for my Tot?

Football is a great sport, not only for a child’s physical development but their confidence and social skills will develop along the way. Your Tot will have fun, make friends and grow their confidence as well as learning some new football skills. Football is for any Tot, no matter what their ability or gender.

Can my Tot attend a Big Boots session if they are already 4 years old?

Footy for Tots is aimed at children who are not yet at full time school. If your child is at Pre-school then Footy for Tots is definitely for your Tot. We do allow children who are 4 years old and in full time school to attend until their 5th birthday.

What age group is right for my child?

We have 3 age groups at Footy for Tots. Little Boots Mixed Boots & Big Boots. For all our age groups the Tots will generally stay with the same age group for the whole of the academic year and not immediately after their birthday. Tots can be moved throughout the year where space is available. Click here to find out more.

Can my Tot attend any age group?

Yes, Tots can attend a younger or older age group but this depends on availability in the chosen age groups. Tots can move between Little Boots (2-3 years) & Big Boots (3-4 years) depending on the child’s maturity or ability. Age groups are designed to allow our Tots to interact with Tots of a similar age, like they would when playing for a local grassroots club.

What happens after the free taster session?

You will receive an email/text within 48 hours after your Tot has attended their free taster session. You have 48 hours to confirm your Tots place in your chosen Footy for Tots session. All you need to do is confirm that you would like to book for the Term and you will receive a booking confirmation email.

What does Termly bookings mean?

All our bookings are done by the Term and when booking after a free taster session you are committing to the remainder of the Term, you are reserving that space in the session for your Tot. We can only have a certain amount of Tots in each session to make the session fun and beneficial to all our Tots.

All our Terms are in accordance with the school academic year and details of term dates can be found here.

How do I pay for a Term?

Payment details are sent by email once you have confirmed your Tots space on your chosen Footy for Tots session.

If my chosen Footy for Tots session if full, is there a waiting list?

Yes, we aim to accommodate every Tot that would like to join one of our sessions and we will always offer you alternative sessions. If we can’t accommodate your Tot you will be put on a waiting list.

We are a new and growing all the time so a new day/venue will be coming in the very near future, so keep an eye out on our social media activity.

What should my Tot wear and bring?

We advise all Tots come with a drink, water or juice, nothing fizzy. As long as your Tot is comfortable they can wear any clothing they like, as long as there is nothing too loose that could cause a trip to themselves or others. We advise wearing sporty clothing, same goes for footwear.

What if I am unable to make a session?

If you are unable to attend a session, free taster or pre booked, you need to email to inform us that you are unable to attend. The coach will have a register and will be expecting every Tot on that register. To allow the session to start on time it’s very important for us to know who isn’t able to attend.

What happens once my Tot reaches their 5th birthday or full time school?

As your Tot approaches the milestone of attending full time school we look to direct our Tots to our Mini-Soccer sessions that take place on a Saturday morning. When the time comes you will receive an email, normally during Term 6 with details of the next steps for your little football star.
